Mwa Ramuise- Good morning for you
Ljoro Ryizon- Good night here

A powerful day spent at the  Kilgali Memorial Museum. I got to see both Alina and Paul and will hopefully see her this Sunday.

It never gets easier and the similarities in the genocide is so clear. The torture and killing of innocent people, especially difficult are the children.murdered with such violence. It is truly remarkable that Rwanda has accomplished so much by way of reconciliation and coming together to be a peaceful nation. Like the many sites in Poland this site is holy as over 25000 bodies are buried here.
The exhibits are graphic and the difference with the Holocaust seems to be evident here where Jews were recylable- everything used. No bones, no skulls because bodies were cremated leaving only ashes. Here we have skulls with clear indicications of machetees or bullets. Clothes belonging to the victims, hence not given to troops as in Nazi regime. But the storys are similar,

We hear from a remarkable man Bonnaire who was sved by a woman who carried him on her back ( he was 9) His mother had turned him over to this Hutu woman to save him. He was the only survivor of his 5 siblings and is mom. His dad survived.

When he was 18 he was part of a group of children who lost everything but survived  Tey created their own families and actually elected a mother and father. Bonnaire was chosen to be the father to children ,many his own age, they survived as a family and many more of these make shift families arose. They survive today. He is noy particularly religous but spiritual on his own. He sas much of this was that his mother asked a local priest three times to help save him and he had refused.
When asked when did he start to take care of his own heart he said when he started to work at the musuem.

There was an exhibit of photos similar to USHMM but here they are only 25 years old. Many people have left notes for loved ones.
Photos of ife before the genocide are displayed.

I apologize for some of the graphic photos.  Notice that Carl Wilkins is noted in one of the exhibits.
